How to Get Reviews on your Amazon Listing in 2021 – 3 Whitehat Ways

Consumers have depended more on online shopping with the surge of the pandemic in 2020. In a report published by JungleScout on Q3 Consumer Report, 62% of consumers responded that the majority of online shopping will happen in the future.

One leading factor that influences sales conversion on Amazon is reviews as consumers tend to equate reviews with product quality. In the State of the Amazon Seller 2021 report, 52% of the respondents agreed that getting customer reviews is their top challenge on the platform. Don’t worry, these 3 White Hat techniques can surely help you with getting reviews for your listing.

Get reviews on Amazon in 2021 with these 3 White Hat Techniques:

1. Use Amazon’s “Request a Review” button
When someone buys your product on Amazon, there’s a “Request a Review” button under the ‘Orders’ tab in Seller Central which allows you to manually request reviews for each order created.

If you’re just starting and don’t know where to start to get reviews for your product, you can do this. It might be time-consuming but it’s Amazon-approved as they added this feature on the platform themselves.

2. Use product inserts
Using product inserts is the easiest way to reach out to your buyers to get their honest feedback and experience with your product. Be sure to follow Amazon’s guidelines though and not outright ask for a review. Requesting to leave a 5-star review or even showing a picture of ‘five stars’ is against Amazon’s guidelines.

To be safe, you can thank them by purchasing your product and that you’d appreciate it if they can give you feedback on the item.

3. Take advantage of the Amazon Vine Program
Amazon Vine invites the most trusted reviewers on Amazon to post opinions about new and pre-release items to help their fellow customers make informed purchase decisions.

The Program is open to Amazon sellers who have brand-registered products with fewer than 30 reviews. Once enrolled, you will need to send 30 units to the Program. Vine reviewers will then get the item for free, test the product out, and write a review.

WARNING: Follow the GUIDELINES
A lot of sellers are suspended from Amazon due to review manipulation. Don’t think you can outsmart their system. Amazon has constantly updated its algorithm to detect review manipulation and it’s virtually impossible to dispute your case if you’re tagged with it.

You can’t ask relatives, friends, or your social media followers for a review. You can’t also ask a family member or neighbors as the system might flag it due to the same IP address, that’s how smart the system is.

The bottom line is reviews should be organic. If you have a great product, an optimized listing with a competitive price, and have done any or all 3 techniques above, you should be able to get reviews.
